Tivat Airport (TIV): Your Starting Point for the Adriatic Coast

Aircraft descend between Mount Lovcen and the Vrmac ridge, bank over the bay, and touch down on a runway that ends at the waterline. The terminal sits 4 km from Tivat and 8 km from Kotor's Sea Gate.

Year-round flights connect to Belgrade, with seasonal charters multiplying the schedule between May and October. Budget carriers have added London, Vienna, and Moscow to the summer timetable.

Drive Times from TIV

  • Kotor Old Town: 8 km, roughly 15 minutes
  • Perast waterfront: about 25 minutes
  • Budva riviera: around 20 minutes south
  • Herceg Novi: approximately 40 minutes

Terminal Facilities

A cafe, small duty-free, souvenir stands, and an ATM. Buses to Herceg Novi and Budva are infrequent. Taxis queue outside. Simplest: have your rental car waiting, keys handed at the gate.

Why Collect at TIV?

Tivat is the only Montenegrin airport where the bay coast is a fifteen-minute drive. Four routes branch from the terminal. No shuttle transfers, no waiting. Budva's beaches and Old Town are 30 minutes south via the tunnel.

Your agent waits in arrivals, name on a board. The car is outside. From wheels down to driving: about fifteen minutes.
